Seeds of Change: Book Study & Dialogues

Adult Enrichment / Lifestyle -
2022/23 CE Catalog

Join Seeds of Change this fall as we read and learn from New York Times bestselling author Ibram X. Kendi’s book, “How to Raise an Anti-Racist.” An ideal read for educators, parents, family members and caregivers, Mr. Kendi’s book guides readers of all races to understand how racism impacts the lives of our children. Using research, personal stories, and practical advice, Mr. Kendi helps readers to develop the ability to navigate honest conversations about race with children and family members – and to actively work against racism, hate, bias, and prejudice. Each week, you’ll read/listen to 2 chapters of the book, then come together for discussion and learning. Sessions are facilitated by district equity leaders Ron Williams and Mauri Deer.

This 6-week, in-person session begins on Tuesday, October 4, 2022. Please obtain your own copy of the book/audiobook (available at local booksellers, online, or from your library). Meeting location and discussion questions will be sent out each week prior to our Tuesday meetings.
