    DASH Sports Ages 6-9 DASH Sports lacrosse camps provide participants an introductory experience to the game. Athletes will learn basic lacrosse fundamentals including stick handling, cradling, passing, and shooting, all in a fun, non-checking environment. This is a non-contact camp, helmets and gloves are not required, but can be brought with and worn. Sticks and balls are provided.

Emphasis is on technique and proper form. All players will be timed/tested on the first and last day. Camp consists of many different types of physical activities, drills, and games, all tailored specifically to enhance overall track and field performance.     Destination Mars: Rocketry Course

    Youth Enrichment League {YEL!} Incoming Grades 2-5 Launch and watch your very own rocket speed 300 feet into the air! Then it is yours to take home! Students will make and take home multiple rockets of varying difficulty throughout this session. We will use these rockets and airplanes to investigate basic aeronautical concepts including: propulsion, thrust, lift, drag and more. We will also hypothesize about travel in outer space, how to get a United States astronaut to Mars and life on Mars. Do you have the right stuff? The final day the students will perform a short Variety Show for family and friends!

  • Drivers Education (2023-2024)

    A+ Driving School Students may start classroom driving lessons at age 14, take the Knowledge Test and obtain their Instruction Permit at age 15, and take the Road Test and obtain their Provisional License at age 16. To be eligible to take the Road Test, students must have had their Instruction Permit for a minimum of six months. The Driver's Education Program is divided into two phases: Classroom Phase This phase includes the required 30 hours of classroom instruction that prepares the student to take the Minnesota permit test and to take on the responsibility of driving. If a lesson is missed, a make-up lesson can be arranged with the office at either the next Farmington session or at another A+ session. This portion can be taken virtually or in-person. Behind-the-Wheel Phase After students pass the permit test, they are required to complete six hours of driving lessons. The lessons are provided in three, two-hour lessons. The lessons are one-on-one instruction with instructors licensed through the MN Dept. of Public Safety. Students can be picked up from and dropped off at home, school or work. Detailed information about scheduling the behind-the-wheel lessons will be provided. Can't Make Every Lesson? If you miss a lesson, you are responsible for making up that exact lesson number. You can attend any A+ classroom or any community education program to make up a missed lesson. Please call A+ the office the day before so we can add the student to the attendance roster. Disclaimer: This contract expires 2 years from the first day of classroom training or when the student turns 18, whichever occurs first. All classes and BTW lessons must be completed before the expiration date. The Driver's Education program is offered as a package (classroom instruction & behind the wheel lessons) and cannot be separated. Fees $420 per student includes classroom instruction, materials and behind-the-wheel training. Permit and road exam fees are not included. The option is also available to pay $210 at the time of registration and be charged the remaining $210 the first day of class.   • ECFE Out and About

    ECFE Out and About Join our ECFE staff while we are at a location near you! Explore your community and see places you might not have been before. Families will have the opportunity to build relationships and try new things, all with the support of ECFE staff. Planned activities will be geared for children birth - third grade, so bring the family. Registration is preferred in advance so that we can best prepare, but if your plans change and you can come at the last minute, come and register at the event! Cost is $3 per child, $10 maximum per family. Children under 1 year of age are free.
  • ECFE at the Park

    Join ECFE staff at Lake Julia Park for some activities, crafts, games, socialization and fun! We'll be there from 9:30AM-11AM, but come when you can and leave when you must. Advance registration is encouraged so that we can be prepared, but you can always register when you get there too! Activities are geared toward children birth- 5 years old, but the whole family is always welcome. Parents are responsible for the supervision of their children during this time. This event is FREE. Register for one, or all - we can't wait to see you! In the case of inclement weather, this event will be canceled.   • Early Childhood Screening April 24

    In Minnesota, all children must be screened before entering Kindergarten in a public school. All children have the right to receive a free Early Childhood Screening with age 3 being the recommended age. Children can be also screened at age 4 and 5. Early Childhood Screening is a free snapshot of how your child is growing, developing, and learning. Early Childhood Screening can connect families with resources in the community. Interpreter services are provided at no cost to families if needed. You must submit all of the following paperwork. You can either: 1. Print it out and submit it to Farmington Community Education 6100 195th St W, Farmington, MN 55044 or 2. Complete it electronically, save it, and email it to chenderson@farmington.k12.mn.us. Please note the screening appointment date in the subject line of the email. Each child will need all of the following: 1. Screening packet 2. One social/emotional questionnaire. Please complete one of the following based on the age of the child at the time of the screening. 36 months – 42 months of age 42 months and 1 day – 54 months of age Over 54 months of age 3. A copy of your child’s immunization record. (This can be in any format.) If you are a conscientious objector, please provide a copy of your notarized objection. Interpreters are provided at no cost to families. Please let us us know if you or your child will need an interpreter during the screening. Please note that family members cannot interpret for children.
