  • Tiger Preschool

    Beginning in the 2024-2025 school year, Farmington Community Education will be offering Tiger Preschool with before and after care through our Kid Connection program. Tiger Preschool will be available for half days or full days with the choice of 2, 3, or 5 days per week for students ages 3-5 years old. Tiger Preschool will use the Minnesota Early Childhood Indicators of Progress and Creative Curriculum as a foundation to create a high-quality learning environment. Creative Curriculum improves Kindergarten readiness, supports the whole child, is research-based and field proven, and is aligned with early learning standards. In addition, children will be authentically assessed through observation. Upon registration, please choose your preferences. Classes will be built and students will be placed in early April, and parents will be notified of their child’s placement by April 15th.   • Wee Tigers Preschool ECSE

    Wee Tigers preschool in the Farmington School District , staffed by licensed, professional Early Childhood educators, provides fun, challenging and creative learning actives for your child. Classes are offered at five different sites or through the Wee Tigers Preschool. This enrollment is only for children who have already received approval from the ECSE department to enroll with this registration. All other registrations will not be approved.

    Just me @ECFE 23-24

    Just Me @ ECFE Separation Must be 3 by class start. This “child only” class will provide a typical preschool experience for your child. This is a great transitional class for families not quite ready to commit to a regular preschool schedule. Important: Parents will be required to attend a “family class” with their child three scheduled days during the session. These sessions will inform the parents what their child is learning in class time. All children must be 3 years old by the start of class and can take care of all of their toileting needs.     3's and Up

    3's and Up Must be 3 years Your child will be given the chance to explore, experiment, investigate and interact with others. Circle time will include books, educational games and other preschool learning opportunities. In your Parent discussion group, you will be able to choose topics of interest to the group, along with learning how to help your child in their exploration. Parent(s)/guardian(s) will go to a separate room for discussion time. Registration is necessary for childcare of preschool siblings. We are excited that our classes are filling fast.   • Stepping Stones Preschool & Child Care

    Stepping Stones is a year-round, full day Preschool for 3, 4, and 5 year old's (before Kindergarten) designed to provide a foundation for lifelong learning. We're open from 6 am - 6 pm and have three convenient locations: Meadowview Elementary (2, 3, or 5-day options), Riverview Elementary (5-day option only), and the Tiger Legacy Learning Center (5-day option only). Children must be 3 years old and be toilet trained and completely independent in the restroom to attend. Reminders: *Children’s lunches will not have access to refrigeration or microwave. *All personal belongings not needed on site, including stuffed animals, should be kept at home. Blankets and “softies” used for rest time should be taken home weekly and washed thoroughly. *Children should bring a labeled refillable water bottle each day. Preschool students will not be required to wear masks or to social distance, but adults (parents) in the building will be required to wear a mask and a shield. Adults will still be required to social distance.

  • Wee Tigers Preschool

    Wee Tigers preschool in the Farmington School District , staffed by licensed, professional Early Childhood educators, provides fun, challenging and creative learning actives for your child. Classes are offered at five different sites or through the Wee Tigers Preschool. If the class you wish to enroll in indicates that it is full you can still enroll for that class but know you will be placed on a wait list and we recommend you enroll in your second choice. Putting your name on a wait list does not ensure that your child will be placed into that class. In the event that a class fills prior to us noting it is full we will contact you about your second choice. Space is limited and registrations are accepted on a first come first serve basis. Class options can be found on the Wee Tigers website www.WeeTigers.com. For additional information call the Community Education office at 651-460-3200. Scholarships are available for those families that qualify. There are limited scholarship funds so apply early.     Kidcreate Studios Ages 3-6 Hip hip hooray, it’s Dino Day! If you love dinosaurs as much as we do, this is the class for you. Artists will explore several different mediums as they tear, paint, glue and more; it’ll be dino-riffic!!! Please pack a nut free snack and drink for your child.

    Toddlers on the Go NS 10-23 months Have fun participating together in planned age-appropriate activities designed to promote and stimulate learning and social skills as well as language and motor development.     2's and 3's Must be 24- 48 months What can you expect from your little one now that your child is getting a little older? Learn reasons why one minute your child is a "little adult" and the next minute is falling apart. Learn the ways you can help them learn the skills they need to cope with day to day life. Discuss ways one can encourage when children cooperate and options for parents to aid in a "peaceful" household. The parents will separate for the discussion time. Childcare is available for preschool siblings.

  • Jump Start Kinder Camp

    All are encouraged to apply, but placement priority is given to children who have had limited preschool experience, show risk factors that are known to have an impact on school readiness and/or need additional support to get ready for kindergarten. Scholarships and transportation is available for qualified participants. Registration can be done by completing the online application at www.ECFEfamily.com under – Jump Start Kinder Camp, OR complete the attached form OR contact the Community Education Office, 651-460-3208 or 651-460-3216. Parents will be notified when their child is placed into the program by May 8. Registrations will be accepted on a space available basis. Children must be 5 by Sept 1, 2017 and toilet trained.

    Online Drop In Class

    Online Drop In Class! Join our ECFE staff on a google meet for a time of fun and learning. The class is free! Just use the link given to you in your confirmation notes. The link will be the same from one week to the next so you don't need to re-register. Classes are held on Monday's from 12:15PM - 12:45PM. Register to receive the link.

All children have the right to receive a free Early Childhood Screening with age 3 being the recommended age. Children can be also screened at age 4 and 5. Early Childhood Screening is a free snapshot of how your child is growing, developing, and learning. Early Childhood Screening can connect families with resources in the community. Interpreter services are provided at no cost to families if needed. You must submit all of the following paperwork. You can either: 1. Print it out and submit it to Farmington Community Education 6100 195th St W, Farmington, MN 55044 or 2. Complete it electronically, save it, and email it to chenderson@farmington.k12.mn.us. Please note the screening appointment date in the subject line of the email. Each child will need all of the following: 1. Screening packet 2. One social/emotional questionnaire. Please complete one of the following based on the age of the child at the time of the screening. 36 months – 42 months of age 42 months and 1 day – 54 months of age Over 54 months of age 3. A copy of your child’s immunization record. (This can be in any format.) If you are a conscientious objector, please provide a copy of your notarized objection. Interpreters are provided at no cost to families. Please let us us know if you or your child will need an interpreter during the screening.   • ECFE at the Park

    Join ECFE staff at Lake Julia Park for some activities, crafts, games, socialization and fun! We'll be there from 9:30AM-11AM, but come when you can and leave when you must. Advance registration is encouraged so that we can be prepared, but you can always register when you get there too! Activities are geared toward children birth- 5 years old, but the whole family is always welcome. Parents are responsible for the supervision of their children during this time. This event is FREE. Register for one, or all - we can't wait to see you! In the case of inclement weather, this event will be canceled. Key elements of throwing, fielding/catching, batting, and baserunning will be taught and practiced, and players will be grouped and challenged at an appropriate level in a fun, positive environment while learning values of ‘Respect, Hustle, and Pride’. Camp ends with a scrimmage the final day. Athletes should bring a water bottle, snack, and a baseball glove (spikes and bats are optional). Baseballs and bats are provided.   • AQBP-Bobbers / Preschool

    This course is intended for 2, 3, and 4 year-olds that are new to swim lessons. This class is quite similar to Aqua Kids but is for children that are able to participate without the assistance from an adult. Skills Include: water entry and exit; bubble blowing; floats; glides; kicking; rolling over; life jackets; and more. Exit Skills Assessment:- 1. Enter independently using the steps or side; travel 5 yards; submerge to mouth and blow bubbles for 3-5 seconds; then safely exit the water. 2. While in shallow water, glide on front 2-3 body lengths then roll on back and float on back for 3-5 seconds; then recover to a vertical position. Prerequisites: ages 2 to 4 and comfortable in the water without assistance from an adult.

    Gymnastics Open Gyms Ages 6+

    Is your child on the move and looking for new areas to explore? Come join our recreation coaches and try out our gymnastics and parkour equipment! Participants can try the balance beams, bars, vault, floor, and more! Please note, equipment is used on a rotating basis, not all equipment may be available for use at each open gym session. If you have a specific request, please connect with one of the coaches upon arrival. Open gym is an unstructured time, under the supervision of gymnastics coaches. Parent participation/supervision is required. Designed for Ages 6 +. Price Options: $10 for one session or purchase the TNT Open Gym Punch Card for $50. You will receive 5 open gym passes and the 6th open gym is free. Please bring your Punch Card each time you come to class and register online before each Open Gym Session. Punch card will be given to you on your first attended open gym.
