    Master Jeff Wood- Young Americans Schools of Self-Defense Ages 5-16 This class will empower youth ages 5 and older with non-aggressive skills and techniques to protect themselves from those who would attempt to do harm. This program also provides self-confidence, physical fitness, respect for authority, improved academic performance, and responsible citizenship. Master Jeff Wood Master Jeff has been a Martial Arts student continuously since September of 1964, studying multiple styles in the United States, Korea, Japan, and China. In 1981 he began his career as an instructor, and over the past 40 years has devoted himself to helping all his students achieve their highest potential in all aspects of their self-defense training.   • Summer Youth Horse Camps

    Cornerstone on the Vermillion Instructor: Michelle Michaud Ages 4-17 Do you love horses? Our camps are all horses, all the time! Spend time bonding with some incredible show horses. All abilities are welcome to join us for an action packed camp and learn western, English, and bareback riding, horsemanship, groundwork, and training. Participants begin their days with horsemanship skill development, followed by horse training. There will be a one hour lunch break to let the horses rest, and the youth! During this time youth can eat their lunch and enjoy free play with board games, books, and activity sheets. Connecting & partnering with the horses is emphasized throughout each day. Riding multiple horses throughout camp with emphasis on rider safety, core, seat and legs. Each day refreshing all skills learned the previous day. Our camps are coached to develop skills, connection & understanding of these magnificent animals. Please bring a bicycle helmet if you have one, otherwise riding helmets are provided. Participants should bring a bag lunch, water bottle, and snacks. The indoor riding facility is unheated, please dress accordingly.     FHS Girls Varsity Coach Aaron Johnson Girls and Boys entering K-9th grade Tiger Soccer Camps are designed for players of all levels who want to learn and improve their fundamental soccer skills in a fun and encouraging environment. Players are given the unique opportunity to receive individual instruction from Farmington High School Girls Soccer Coaching Staff and soccer players! Tiger Elementary Soccer Camp Girls & Boys entering grades K-5 Each day is filled with a variety of activities to promote correct soccer technique including: small-sided games to encourage personal involvement and enhance the understanding of team concepts, technical and ball mastery skills sessions, shooting drills, fun games and much more. Youth need to bring their own soccer ball and water bottle. Youth also receive a t-shirt! **Registration deadline is June 26th at midnight. Registrations over the phone will be accepted after June 26, but a t-shirt is not guaranteed** Tigers Advanced Soccer Camp Girls & Boys entering grades 6-9 Each day will be filled with challenging activities to help improve each player’s soccer skills including small sided games and fun games that improve player’s technical ability and tactical awareness.   • Gymnastics - Summer Youth 6+ Open Gym

    Is your child on the move and looking for new areas to explore? Come join our recreation coaches and try out our gymnastics and parkour equipment! Participants can try the balance beams, bars, vault, floor, and more! Please note, equipment is used on a rotating basis, not all equipment may be available for use at each open gym session. If you have a specific request, please connect with one of the coaches upon arrival. Open gym is an unstructured time, under the supervision of gymnastics coaches. Designed for ages 6 - 14. Purchase the TNT Open Gym Punch Card. You will receive 5 open gym passes and the 6th open gym is free. If you purchase a punch card please continue to register online before each Open Gym Session.

    DASH Sports Ages 2- 7 DASH Sports flag football Tykes camps provide players with an introductory experience to the great game of football in a little to no contact safe environment. Key elements of passing, catching, rushing, and defense will be taught and practiced. Fun, skill-based games will be played to practice newly learned skills. Athletes should bring a water bottle and wear athletic clothing & shoes (spikes/cleats are optional). Footballs and flag belts are provided. Parent participation is required for the 2-3yr old age group and recommended when needed for the 4+ year old age group.
  • Sparks Golf Squad

    Golf Squad Incoming grades K-5 Golf Squad is for both new and continuing students and provides weekly opportunities for your child to learn the technical swing mechanics (i.e. putting, chipping, full swing, etc.) as well as the social skills required to enjoy golf, the clubs, and golf course (i.e. vocabulary, etiquette, rules, history, etc.) all under the instruction of an LPGA or PGA Professional. Golf is a very challenging and fun sport that can lead to college scholarships. So start early and start now...boys and girls! Even if your child already plays, it is great to enjoy weekly, convenient lessons from the pro.     Destination Mars: Rocketry Course

    Youth Enrichment League {YEL!} Incoming Grades 2-5 Launch and watch your very own rocket speed 300 feet into the air! Then it is yours to take home! Students will make and take home multiple rockets of varying difficulty throughout this session. We will use these rockets and airplanes to investigate basic aeronautical concepts including: propulsion, thrust, lift, drag and more. We will also hypothesize about travel in outer space, how to get a United States astronaut to Mars and life on Mars. Do you have the right stuff?     DASH Sports Incoming Grades K-6 DASH Sports Summer Flag Football camps provide players with a well-rounded football experience in a little to no contact safe environment. Key elements of passing, catching, rushing, and defense will be taught and practiced daily, and players will be grouped and challenged at an appropriate level in a fun, positive environment while learning values of ‘Respect, Hustle, and Pride’. Camp ends with scrimmages/games the final day where players can showcase their skills. Athletes should bring a wear sunscreen, and bring a water bottle and a snack (spikes/cleats, and mouthguards are optional). Flag belts, and football are provided.
  • Home Alone Training

    Brittany Hoppe & Trish Schmaltz Ages 7 years 6 months - 11 years Is your child ready to be home alone? Children should feel comfortable and safe when staying home alone, whether for an hour after school or several hours during the summer. Being trusted to stay home alone can be a positive experience for a child who is mature and well prepared. This class will address several topics relating to being home alone, including age guidelines, house rules, after school routines, activities they can do, safe habits, and more. Students attend this class independently. Parents are encouraged to review the take home information and discuss it with their child after class. Please have your child bring a water bottle.

    FHS Varsity Football Coaches Jon Pieper and Rick Sutton Incoming 1st-9th Grade Football Camps These camps provide the opportunity for youth to develop skills that will prepare them to become successful varsity football players. Athletes will learn offensive and defensive fundamentals from varsity football coaches and players. Coaches will teach drills specific to linebackers, defensive backs, defensive line, receivers, running backs, offensive line, and quarterbacks. These camps will focus on player development while providing opportunities for athletes to compete and become better football players. Competition will be created through drills and specific passing situations that will allow the campers to put their newly formed skills to the test.     Beginning Quilting

    Diana Berg Incoming Grades 5-8 Come and learn new skills with your sewing machine! In this camp, youth will learn how to create a rag quilt using a variety of cotton and flannel fabrics. Youth will work on a lap size quilt using a variety of fabrics. This quilt will be backed with flannel, with batting inside. Youth must bring their own sewing machine. There are a few available to borrow. Email youthenrichment@farmington.k12.mn.us to reserve one of the available sewing machines! Kids Beginning Machine Sewing is a pre-requisite for this class.

    TIGER BOYS BASKETBALL CAMPS The FHS Varsity Boys Head Coach Tharen Johnson and his staff are excited to offer youth basketball camps this summer. Join Coach Johnson and the FHS Tiger boys basketball staff and players to take your game to the next level! Boys Basketball Academy (2024-2025 school year grades 8-9) M-Th, June 10-July 25, no camp June 19 or the week of July 1 (6 weeks), 8:45-9:45 am Farmington High School Cost = $80 (Please note that you will not be charged for this camp until 3-5 days before the start!) Campers bring their own basketball and water bottle SM24-BoysBballAcademy Boys Basketball Academy is for boys going into 8th & 9th grade (2024-2025 school year) who are interested in playing competitive basketball. The Academy is offered in conjunction with athletes also participating in the Farmington High School Summer Training Camp, which runs from 7:00-8:30 am. Training Camp is a separate registration through the high school. It is strongly encouraged that boys basketball players sign up for both. Varsity Head Coach Tharen Johnson and staff will work with each camper to improve their basketball skills. The goal of this camp is to have fun playing basketball. About the Coach: Tharen Johnson FHS Varsity Boys Basketball Head Coach Coach Johnson has been with the varsity basketball program at Farmington High School and coaching summer basketball camps since 2005. He served as a varsity assistant for 12 seasons and as head varsity coach since 2017. In that stretch he helped build Farmington boys basketball from a one win team in 2005 to a conference championship in 2009, its first conference title since 1962. During Coach Johnson’s tenure in the program, Farmington boys basketball had its top two winning-est seasons in history recording 20 victories in 2009 and 19 wins in 2014. Johnson helped develop four players who went on to be 1,000 point career scorers as well as many players who went on to play at the collegiate level.

    Diana Berg Incoming Grades 1-5 Come and learn new skills with your sewing machine! In this camp, youth will learn how to use a sewing machine to complete a standard size pillowcase, then they will use a pattern to create their very own pair of lounge pants, then the final project will cumulate with a letter pillow.
