TIGER BOYS BASKETBALL CAMPSThe FHS Varsity Boys Head Coach Tharen Johnson and his staff are excited to offer youth basketball camps this summer. Join Coach Johnson and the FHS Tiger boys basketball staff and players to take your game to the next level! We do not offer basketball camps for boys entering 8th grade for the 2021-2022 school year. Any 8th grade boys interested in basketball should be participating in the high school morning workout program. Boys Competitive Travel Camp (2021-2022 school year grades 6-7)M-Th, June 7-July 1 (4 weeks), 10:15-11:30 amWeek 1 LDMS Week 2 FHS Week 3 & 4 RBMSCost = $145 (Please note that you will not be charged for this camp until 3-5 days before the start!) Registration Deadline = June 4 at MidnightYS21-BOYSBBALL6/7This 4 week basketball camp is for boys going into 6th and 7th grade (2021-2022 school year) who played travel basketball or are interested in competing in travel basketball during the winter. Varsity Head Coach Tharen Johnson and staff will work with each camper to improve their shooting, passing, and dribbling skills to become a better basketball player. The main goal is player development and for the kids to compete and have fun. Our camp is also partnering with trainer Dana Douglas, owner F.A.S.T. fitness out of the Hope Fieldhouse, to offer campers speed, agility, and strength training two days a week during the summer. Registration Deadline = July 16 at MidnightYS21-BOYSBBALLREC3-7This one week camp is for boys entering 3rd through 7th grade (2021-2022 school year). Varsity Head Coach Tharen Johnson and staff will work with each camper to improve their basketball skills. The goal of this camp is to have fun playing basketball. About the Coach: Tharen Johnson FHS Varsity Boys Basketball Head CoachCoach Johnson has been with the varsity basketball program at Farmington High School and coaching summer basketball camps since 2005. He served as a varsity assistant for 12 seasons and as head varsity coach since 2017. In that stretch he helped build Farmington boys basketball from a one win team in 2005 to a conference championship in 2009, its first conference title since 1962. During Coach Johnson’s tenure in the program, Farmington boys basketball had its top two winning-est seasons in history recording 20 victories in 2009 and 19 wins in 2014. Johnson helped develop four players who went on to be 1,000 point career scorers as well as many players who went on to play at the college level.
