Join Community Ed this winter as we venture to Buck Hill for skiing and snowboarding trips! We will be going on four Thursdays this winter, as long as the snow and weather conditions permit. Lessons are available for beginner skiers and snowboarders!

Rental Equipment: Youth who need rental equipment should choose that payment option upon registration. The rental option also includes a helmet. If you did not register for rental equipment and need it, rental equipment can be purchased at Buck Hill with a credit card.

Transportation: The buses will leave from Boeckman Middle School north parking lot (door 11) at 4:00 pm. The transportation is one-way so students need to be picked up at Buck Hill by the clock tower. Supervision of students will end at 7:30 pm, Buck Hill closes at 9:00 pm.

Please note: Parents of any registered students that do not get on the bus before its departure will be contacted. Please create a back-up plan with your student in the event they miss the bus.

Equipment: Students are not allowed to bring skis or snowboards on regular school buses. There will be a trailer at Boeckman Middle School for use by participants from both schools. Equipment drop-off time is 7:50-8:15 am. Please label and secure equipment together for safe keeping. A ski or snowboard bag is highly recommended to guard against scratches. We also encourage students to purchase a lock specially made for ski equipment or use the Buck Hill ski lock up area.

Each building will have a designated area inside for clothing and boot storage. At Dodge it is the storage room in the middle of the PE hallway. At Boeckman it is the storage room directly across from the gyms (in between the locker rooms).

Food: Buck Hill does not allow outside food. Food items such as hot dogs, hamburgers, French fries, etc. are available for purchase.

Cancellation: In the event of severe weather and school closes early and/or activities get cancelled, a ski trip will also be cancelled. Parents/guardians will be notified, and students will go home as normal. Please be prepared! If you dropped off skis or a snowboard, the pick-up will be organized then shared. If you cannot pick up your child’s equipment, please make arrangements for an alternate plan such as a neighbor or friend, etc. We cannot store the equipment or guarantee its safety. Ski trips will not be rescheduled. REFUNDS will be dependent upon Buck Hill’s refund policy.

Activity Fee: The activity fee allows Farmington Community Education to facilitate these trips to Buck Hill, where open skiing, lift tickets, and optional lessons and equipment rental are available to registered students. Please note that Farmington Community Education is providing access to these activities, but they are not Farmington CE programs or staff. Farmington Community Education does provide staff as a resource and point of contact for students. Parent volunteers will be recruited and background checked to assist students, as needed.

Waiver: A Buck Hill Release Liability Waiver is required prior to the first day of Ski Trips. A link to this waiver will be emailed to families after registration.

Registration Options: To register for individual Buck Hill dates, click on the appropriate date. If you sign up for all four dates you will save $20-$25!
