    Rick Stanton, FHS Learner/Family Cultural Advocate and Baseball Coach Ages 4-9 Welcome to the amazing sport of baseball! We are here to help you being your journey into this great American pastime. We will provide baseball basics, such as catching, throwing, hitting techniques, base running, and fielding. We will explore some fun drills and key concepts that will help you grasp the fundamentals of the game. The last day will be a game day for participants! Participants should bring a baseball camp, a glove, and a labeled water bottle. Baseball bats and balls will be provided.

    Basketball Tykes Camp Ages 2- 7 DASH Sports Basketball Tykes camps provide players with an introductory experience to the great game of basketball through fun skill-based drills and mini-games. Players will be taught how to properly dribble, pass, shoot, and play defense in a fun and positive environment. Athletes should bring a water bottle & wear athletic clothing & shoes. Balls are provided. Parent participation is required for the 2-3yr old age group and recommended when needed for the 4+ year old age group.
  • Beautiful Butterflies

    Tracy Crofoot Grades K-5 Beautiful Butterflies camp is a great summer activity for your butterfly enthusiast! Campers will go on a journey of discovery and learn about the wonderful world of butterflies and moths! They will learn about the butterfly’s lifecycle, diet, behavior and migration. Weather permitting, campers will get ‘back to nature’ by venturing outside making their own observations and discoveries just like a naturalist! We will be taking a survey of the butterfly species in the flower gardens and reporting our findings to local scientists. Campers will learn more about becoming a Citizen Scientist and how they can contribute to butterfly conservation too.

    Beginning Quilting

    Diana Berg Incoming Grades 5-8 Come and learn new skills with your sewing machine! In this camp, youth will learn how to create a rag quilt using a variety of cotton and flannel fabrics. Youth will work on a lap size quilt using a variety of fabrics. This quilt will be backed with flannel, with batting inside. Youth must bring their own sewing machine. There are a few available to borrow. Email youthenrichment@farmington.k12.mn.us to reserve one of the available sewing machines! Kids Beginning Machine Sewing is a pre-requisite for this class.

    Learn the techniques to create your own Bob Ross inspired 20 x 16 landscape painting. The wet-on-wet method will have you painting mountains, lakes, rivers, trees, bushes, and sunsets. The relaxed step-by-step instruction will teach you how to use all the equipment provided by your certified Bob Ross instructor. Keep your painting for yourself or give as a gift!

This class works on the fundamentals that all tumbling skills use - body awareness, hand supports, rolls, cartwheels, round offs, bridges (5+ years only), kick overs (5+ years only), etc. No experience is necessary for this class. 45 minute class.

    Cheerleading - Tiger Adaptive Cheer Team Boys and Girls - Grades 6-12 The Tiger Adaptive Cheer team pairs Farmington cheerleaders, Cheer Peers and students with disabilities to create an opportunity to cheer together at several FHS home football and basketball games as well as at local cheer competitions.     Competition Cheerleading – Elementary Black Team 2024-2025 Grades 2-3 The Elementary Black level of competitive cheer focuses on establishing good motion, jump, stunt and dance technique as well as learning how to work together as a team. The team will perform skills appropriate to their ability levels. This is a novice-intermediate level team that will focus on developing a love for cheer, learning new skills, improving current skills, and will train in technique for jumps, motions, stunting, and dance. Skills performed will be more novice-intermediate level (preps level stunts and progressing to possible extended stunts as the season progresses). They will compete in the Elementary Novice division. This is a team that will focus on developing a love for cheer, learning new skills, improving current skills, and will train in technique for jumps, motions, stunting, and dance. Skills performed will be more adapted to each athlete's ability level (extended stunts, one legged stunts, etc). This team will compete in the Elementary or Elementary Advanced division and competes locally (November through through end of January). Competition schedules will be released in mid-summer. The team will perform skills appropriate to their ability levels. This is a intermediate-advanced level team that will focus on developing a love for cheer, learning new skills, improving current skills, and will train in technique for jumps, motions, stunting, and dance. Skills performed will be more intermediate-advanced level (extended stunts and one legged skills). They will compete in the Elementary or Elementary Advanced division. White team competes locally (October through January) and at UCA Nationals in Orlando, FL. This team requires travel. Competition schedules will be released in mid-summer. They will learn about creatures that are often thought of as pests, but really are beneficial to our environment. Weather permitting, campers will get ‘back to nature’ by venturing outside making their own observations and discoveries just like a naturalist! We will be taking a survey of some species and reporting our findings to local scientists. Campers will learn more about becoming a Citizen Scientist and how they can contribute to conservation too.
