    Cheerleading - Tumbling Classes 2024-2025 Competition Cheerleading Coaches Grades K - 12 Please contact Coach Jen if you aren't sure which level to sign up for! jkroshus@isd192.org Are you a cheerleader just getting started, an experienced cheerleader who wants to improve your tumbling skills or do you just want to learn how to tumble? Our tumbling class will teach age and level appropriate tumbling skills from forward rolls to fulls. No experience is needed. You do not need to be a current member of a competition cheer team to enroll in the class. Back Handspring Grades K -12 This class if for athletes that have tested out of Intermediate or have been evaluated at this level. Athletes will work on perfecting the skills they have learned in Intermediate, while also focusing on gaining back handsprings and round off back handsprings. 60 min class

Our tumbling class will teach age and level appropriate tumbling skills from forward rolls to full twisting layouts. No experience is needed. You do not need to be a current member of a competition cheer team to enroll in the class. Advanced Grades 1 - 12 This class if for athletes that have tested out of the Back Handspring class or have been evaluated at this level. Athletes will work on adding additional skills such as series tumbling, tucks, layouts and twisting skills. 60 min class

Intermediate Grades K - 12 This class is for athletes that have tested out of Beginner or have been evaluated at this level. Walkovers are the focus of this class, while also working on increasing speed, power and technique of basic tumbling skills (handstands, cartwheels and round offs). 60 minute class.

You do not need to be a current member of a competition cheer team to enroll in the class. Beginner Ages 3 years - 1st grade This is a beginner level class for beginner tumblers. This class works on the fundamentals that all tumbling skills use - body awareness, hand supports, rolls, cartwheels, round offs, bridges (5+ years only), kick overs (5+ years only), etc. No experience is necessary for this class. 45 minute class.

    Competition Cheerleading – Elementary ORANGE Team 2024-2025 Grades 4-5 The Elementary level of competitive cheer focuses on establishing good motion, jump, stunt and dance technique as well as learning how to work together as a team. The team will perform skills appropriate to their ability levels. This is a team that will focus on developing a love for cheer, learning new skills, improving current skills, and will train in technique for jumps, motions, stunting, and dance. Skills performed will be more adapted to each athlete's ability level (extended stunts, one legged stunts, etc). This team will compete in the Elementary or Elementary Advanced division and competes locally (November through through end of January). Competition schedules will be released in mid-summer.     Competition Cheerleading – Pee Wee Team - 2024-2025 Grades K-1 The Pee Wee level of competitive cheer focuses on introducing cheer skills, such as good motion, jump, stunt and dance technique as well as learning how to work together as a team. The teams will perform skills appropriate to their ability levels. No cheer experience is required to be on this team. Practice will be once a week in August through January. Competitions are local (October through January). Competition schedule will be released in mid-summer.     Competition Cheerleading – Elementary Black Team 2024-2025 Grades 2-3 The Elementary Black level of competitive cheer focuses on establishing good motion, jump, stunt and dance technique as well as learning how to work together as a team. The team will perform skills appropriate to their ability levels. This is a novice-intermediate level team that will focus on developing a love for cheer, learning new skills, improving current skills, and will train in technique for jumps, motions, stunting, and dance. Skills performed will be more novice-intermediate level (preps level stunts and progressing to possible extended stunts as the season progresses). They will compete in the Elementary Novice division. Black team competes locally (November through January). Competition schedule will be released in mid-summer.     Competition Cheerleading – Elementary Game Day 2024-2025 Grades 2-5 The Elementary Game Day team is an “add on” team for those participating in either the Elementary Black, Elementary Orange or Elementary White teams. This team focuses on establishing good motion, jump, and crowd leading skills through a band dance, situational sideline, cheer and school song.     Competition Cheerleading – Elementary White Team 2024-2025 Grades 2-5 THIS TEAM IS BY INVITATION ONLY The Elementary White level of competitive cheer focuses on establishing good motion, jump, stunt and dance technique as well as learning how to work together as a team. The team will perform skills appropriate to their ability levels. This is a intermediate-advanced level team that will focus on developing a love for cheer, learning new skills, improving current skills, and will train in technique for jumps, motions, stunting, and dance. Skills performed will be more intermediate-advanced level (extended stunts and one legged skills). They will compete in the Elementary or Elementary Advanced division. White team competes locally (October through January) and at UCA Nationals in Orlando, FL. This team requires travel. Competition schedules will be released in mid-summer.     Ages 4-Grade 5 Do you have lots of spirit? Want to learn what it takes to become a cheerleader? Athletes will learn the proper technique for cheer jumps, arm motions, cheers, stunts, dance and tumbling basics. Learn a short routine and be part of a group! This class is a great opportunity to get a taste of what cheer is like. No experience is required!
