Middle School Girls Interscholastic Volleyball

Grades 7-8

Farmington Community Education is now facilitating middle school interscholastic (against other middle schools) programs - including volleyball. This interscholastic volleyball program is for 7th and 8th grade girls from Boeckman and Dodge middle schools. The interscholastic programs each include about 15 practices in Farmington and 10 matches against other middle schools (like Lakeville, Northfield, New Prague, and more). The purpose of interscholastic programs is participation, involvement, and development of skills beneficial for future success. These skills include Leadership, Teamwork, Communication, Cooperation, Loyalty, Goal Setting, Work Ethic, Organization, Self-Discipline, Perseverance, and of course Sportsmanship. Adults lead practices and coach at matches.

Practices will take place at Boeckman Middle School from 4:00-5:30 pm. Dodge Middle School students take the after school activity bus over to Boeckman.

Home matches will take place at Boeckman Middle School. Usually one "home" match goes from about 4:15-5:15 and a second goes from about 5:25-6:25 on that same day.

Away matches may start as early as 4:15 or as late as 4:30. The first match takes 1 hour then a second match about 10 minutes after the conclusion of the first match on that same day.

Please note that there is no school bus (transportation) to or from away matches. Student's parent/guardian is responsible for making travel arrangements to and from away matches.
