Created in 2010, the Farmington Area Community Garden is a joint effort between Farmington Area Public Schools and the City of Farmington with the goal of connecting residents throughout the District 192 community, educating students and residents about healthful food options, and providing fresh produce to families in need. The garden is located behind Meadowview Elementary School. Water is available on site, and a shed houses tools available for the gardeners to use.
The Farmington Area Community Garden has 22 plots available for rental by community gardeners, which can include both individuals and groups of people. Plots are 6 feet-by-20 feet.
The garden was created thanks to funding from BlueCross BlueShield and the Statewide Health Improvement Program (SHIP) of the Minnesota Department of Health.
Please note: Each gardener is required to complete a minimum of 6 volunteer assignments. Assignments must be completed by Tuesday each week.
