    GYMNASTICS--Beginner 1

    Beginner 1 (ages 5 and up – 55 mins) Once a gymnast turns 5 and/or is recommended by their coach from the preschool class, they can sign up for this class. This class involves the introduction of basic gymnastics skills on all four apparatus: vault, bars, beam and floor. Tumble Track is also incorporated to teach jumps as well. An example of skills introduced are forward and backward rolls, handstands on floor, glide swings on bars, forward and backward walks and straight jumps on beam.
  • GYMNASTICS--Advanced Beginner

    *YOU MUST HAVE TESTED OUT OF BEGINNER 2, or HAVE A COACH EVALUATION TO BE IN THIS COURSE!!! Beginner 2 is a PREREQUISITE for this course! Advanced Beginner (ages 5 and up – 55 mins) This class is for gymnasts who have tested out of the Beginner 2 class or have been evaluated at this level. Gymnasts will learn more difficult basic skills on all four apparatuses as well as continue to gain strength and confidence on full sized equipment. Skills include pullovers and hollow body casts on the bars, cartwheels, bridges on floor. All payments will be charged one week before the classes begin on Wednesday.

    Terrific Threes (3 years old – 45 mins) Introductory gymnastics skills are introduced along with reinforcing listening skills and following directions through the use of stations, circuits and props. The preschool program is designed to use gymnastics and fundamental body movements as a platform to build and strengthen confidence, positive self–image and problem solving skills in a safe environment. All payments will be charged one week before the classes begin on Wednesday.

    Toddlers (ages 18 mo – 3 years w/parental participation – 45 mins) This is a great class for introducing basic movement skills in a fun and age – appropriate environment. Gymnasts will work through a series of stations and coordination building skills in each class. Focus is on motor skills, listening and taking turns in a stimulating environment. One adult per child will participate in the class and assist the child in following the teacher’s instructions. All payments will be charged one week before the classes begin on Wednesday.

  • Gymnastics Open Gyms MONDAYS

    Is your child on the move and looking for new areas to explore? Come join our recreation coaches and try out our gymnastics and parkour equipment! Participants can try the balance beams, bars, vault, floor, and more! Please note, equipment is used on a rotating basis, not all equipment may be available for use at each open gym session. If you have a specific request, please connect with one of the coaches upon arrival. Open gym is an unstructured time, under the supervision of gymnastics coaches. Parent participation/supervision is required. Designed for Ages 6 months - 5 years. Price Options: $8 for one session or purchase the TNT Open Gym Punch Card for $40. You will receive 5 open gym passes and the 6th open gym is free. Please bring your Punch Card each time you come to class and register online before each Open Gym Session. Punch card will be given to you on your first attended open gym.

If the class you want is full, we encourage you to sign-up anyway! If there are enough youth on the waitlist, we may be able to add an additional class, pending coach availability!     Parkour 2

    Ages 5-14 years old Parkour 2 is for those that have tested out of parkour 1, or have been assessed by a coach. Emphasis on spatial awareness over surfaces to focus on fundamental parkour movements including safe ways to fall, proper weight placement, strides, precision landings, mastery of essential vaults and their simpler forms and using walls to carry, redirect and continue momentum. Introduction to basic flips are introduced.
  • GYMNASTICS--Intermediate 1

    Intermediate 1 & 2 (ages 5 and up – 70 mins) This class is for gymnasts who have tested out of Advanced Beginner or Intermediate 1 and have been evaluated at this level. This class also utilizes all four apparatus and trampoline. Gymnasts will continue to perfect the skills introduced to them in Advanced Beginner and Intermediate 1. They will also begin working on round–offs, bridge kick-overs as well as moving their basic floor skills to the low and medium balance beams. All payments will be charged one week before the classes begin on Wednesday.
  • GYMNASTICS--Intermediate 2

    Intermediate 2 (TEAM PREP) (ages 5 and up – 85 mins) This class is for gymnasts who have tested out of Intermediate 1 or have been evaluated at this level. Gymnasts will work on perfecting skills they have learned in Intermediate 1, while also learning new skills, such as double back hip circles, jumping to the high bar, and cartwheels on the beam. This level is designed to prepare gymnasts for our competitive TEAM program. We will spend more time conditioning for advanced gymnastics skills as well as introduce dance and choreography for routines. * to be evaluated for TEAM PREP email Coach Bailey at Bshamion@isd192.org Please be assured that if for any reason this class is cancelled, you will be offered a voucher/credit to use for a re-scheduled class or future class.     Parkour 3

    Ages 5-14 years old In Parkour 3 we will be learning a combination of Parkour, gymnastics, free-running, calisthenics and conditioning with a higher focus on skill building then prior Parkour classes. Parkour 3 will focus on more advanced skills that will push our athletes physical skill and mental focus. We will be learning skills such as the kong vault, dash vault, wall spin, macaco, kip up, front tuck and many more. Must have leveled out of Parkour 2 or been skill checked by a coach.

    Tech Academy Incoming Grades 5-8 Learn about the exciting process of mobile app development with this hands-on class. We will work together to create our own Flappy Bird game from beginning to end. Students will use Constructs 3, a visual coding platform that teaches students the basics and structure of programming and game design. Computer skills are needed (this includes good keyboard and mouse skills). Bring a USB drive (at least 8 GB) to save your games on the last day.

About the Tiger Girls Basketball Head Coach Liz Carpentier Liz Carpentier enters her 10th year as head girls’ basketball coach at Farmington High School. She enters her 21st season as a Varsity Head Coach at the high school level. Before Farmington High School, she spent 8 seasons coaching at Eagan High School. Carpentier took over a Farmington girls’ program that had won just 3 games the season before. During her time at Farmington, she has led the program to 3 South Suburban Conference Championships, 2 Section 1AAAA Championships, 2 State AAAA appearances and was crowned State AAAA Co-Champions in 2020. The Tigers were set to play Hopkins High School in the State Championship game before the tournament was canceled due to the pandemic. Since Carpentier took over she has grown the girl’s program from just 2 teams to 4, has had numerous players continue to play at the collegiate level, including two former plays compete in the 2022 Elite 8 in the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament. Carpentier is very involved in the youth basketball program (FYBA) and continues to devote time and energy to growing and promoting the game of basketball in the Farmington community. In 2024, Carpentier has been inducted into the Minnesota Girls Basketball Coaches' Association's (MGBCA) Hall of Fame. She has been named the Section 1AAAA Coach of the Year 3 times and was named the State AAAA Coach of the Year in 2020. In addition to coaching, Carpentier is a Social Studies teacher at Farmington High School, serves as the 1AAAA Section Representative, and is a member of the MN HS Girls Basketball All-Star committee.

About the Coach: Tharen Johnson FHS Varsity Boys Basketball Head Coach Coach Johnson has been with the varsity basketball program at Farmington High School and coaching summer basketball camps since 2005. He served as a varsity assistant for 12 seasons and as head varsity coach since 2017. In that stretch he helped build Farmington boys basketball from a one win team in 2005 to a conference championship in 2009, its first conference title since 1962. During Coach Johnson’s tenure in the program, Farmington boys basketball had its top two winning-est seasons in history recording 20 victories in 2009 and 19 wins in 2014. Johnson helped develop four players who went on to be 1,000 point career scorers as well as many players who went on to play at the collegiate level.

Learn how to properly speak your lines, block a scene, develop your character and much more! We will also play fun, creative games. No experience necessary. Students will learn or review chords and strumming techniques, to play fun songs! Ukuleles are not provided, but some are available to borrow.     Mark Toutge Incoming grades 5-8 Would you like to be an actor in a short film? Would you like to work behind the scenes operating cameras, microphones and lights? If so, we will be filming a brand new short film this summer through Community Education at Farmington High School. Broadcasting and media teacher Mark Toutge will lead students through the process of creating a short film from start to finish. All students should bring a blank flash drive to the camp so they can receive a copy of the finished short film.
