Farmington Area Community Education

All Children must be 3 years old by the start of class and must be able to independently take care of their toileting needs. This "child only" class will provide a typical preschool experience. This is a great transitional class for families not quite ready to commit to a regular preschool schedule. Parents will be required to attend a "family class" with their child on a scheduled day once a month during the session. These sessions will inform parents what their child is learning during class time. Free child care is available during the "family class" days. For those attending an evening session at TLLC, free child care is also available for those parents attending Adult English classes through the ABE program. Registration for child care required.

Looking for an opportunity for creative play mid day? Need a change of scenery? ECFE has just the class. Come recharge your batteries while kids create, play, and get their wiggles out. ECFE staff plan the fun and clean up the mess so you can relax!

What's cooking at ECFE? Cooking involves literacy, math, science, patience, and often cooperation. ECFE is here to add fun to the recipe! Families will make simple snacks together while utilizing resources from Dakota County Public Health to explore a rainbow of foods!

Join parents and an ECFE parent educator to take a closer look at some of the many parenting books available. Share resources you have found impactful, and take a deeper dive into a book or two that speaks to you. This class is intended to give parents time to chat and connect with each other, and as a bonus, learn a little along the way.

Join us for an adult only time to connect with other parents free of interruptions and obligations. Parents of young ones so often get pulled away from reading or watching things of interest to us. We get pulled away from our adult conversations as well. Come join us 2 hours a week for a bring your lunch and enjoy a long chat with other adults. Kids will spend time with ECFE early childhood staff for play time and eating a lunch from home.
